"Blanke on UAE Arbitration Legislation & Rules is the successor title to Commentary on the UAE Arbitration Chapter published in March 2017. It has been conceived and designed as a multi-volume work that is intended to grow into a comprehensive title on the core UAE arbitration legislation and rules over years to come. This Volume 1 focuses on the UAE's onshore arbitration legislation whereas future volumes will deal with the UAE free zone arbitration laws, i.e. the 2008 DIFC Arbitration Law and 2015 ADGM Arbitration Regulations, as well as the leading on-and offshore sets of arbitration rules. As such, this is first and only, full English-language commentary on the UAE's onshore arbitration legislation today.
The work is divided into a total of three parts. Part I provides a general introduction to arbitration in the UAE. Part II updates the article-by-article commentary on the former UAE Arbitration Chapter that formed the core of the first edition of this work. Part III provides an article-by-article commentary of the provision of the 2018 UAE Federal Arbitration Law and Council Decision No. 57/2018, which establishes a new, expedited regime for the recognition and enforecment of foreign arbitral awards in the UAE.
Having been authored by one of the leading authorities on arbitration in the UAE, Blanke on UAE Arbitration Legislation and Rules will provide indespensable guidance to both counsel and arbitrators in their daily UAE arbitration practice apart from being a unique reference for anyone involved in the subject."
