HOW YOU RECEIVE YOUR CONTRACT

 

DEVICE COMPATIBILITY

Our JCT Home Owner Contracts are provided as downloadable PDF documents you can save and email.

The contracts are for use on desktop computers only and not compatible with mobile or tablet devices.

If you have a laptop that can also be used as a tablet, the contract will only be accessible when it is in use as a laptop.

JCT Home owner Contracts are Compatible with Windows 7 upwards and Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite) or greater.

ACCESSING YOUR CONTRACT WITH ADOBE READER

To access your contract you'll need to have Adobe Acrobat XI or upwards installed.

You can download the latest version of Adobe Reader Acrobat DC for free from the Adobe website:

Please note: Adobe Reader must be used to open your contract. Opening the contract using a different PDF reader will corrupt your contract.

Some computers such as Apple Macs have default PDF readers built in which will appear as the primary reader for your contract. Please ensure you prompt the contract to open in Adobe reader only.

DOWNLOADING YOUR CONTRACT

Once you have been through the checkout process, click the download link to download your contract. The download link will also be emailed to you.

You will be sent a ZIP file which you should open to view the PDF contracts.

You can only download your contract from the link sent to you a maximum of three times.

Your contract will feature a DRAFT watermark which is removed once the contract is finalised.

FILLING OUT YOUR CONTRACT

The JCT Home Owner Contracts PDFs have been designed for you to fill in on your computer.

If you would prefer a paper JCT Home Owner Contract that you can fill in by hand, please purchase a hard copy of the contract on the JCT website

PRINTING A DRAFT VERSION OF YOUR CONTRACT

If you want to print and share a draft of your contract prior to finalising it, you will need to complete Page 2 of the document fully, and without using abbreviations.

You will then need to check the box on Page 6 to confirm that you are using the contract for one project only, and then save to your designated destination, e.g. your desktop.

Click the Print Draft button to print your watermarked draft contract.

PERMITTED USE

As the Home Owner Contracts are legal documents, we want to make sure they are used in the right way – please note:

  • You can only use the contract once, one contract per contractor
  • Only the purchaser can use the contract, you may not give the contract to anyone else to use for their project
  • You may not remove, change or obscure any product identification or notices of proprietary rights and restrictions
  • You may not remove, change or obscure the contact identifiers on a contract
