Mark Schlageter – PresidentMark Schlageter was appointed President, Sweet & Maxwell in November 2010. Prior to this appointment, Mark held the post of President of the Business Compliance and Knowledge Solutions SBU at Thomson Reuters. In that role he was responsible for the Thomson Reuters Tax and Accounting information business globally and was based in New York City. Mark joined Thomson Reuters in 1997, and has been involved throughout his career in business development activities and strategy execution. He has served as the President of four Thomson Reuters businesses and also the COO of Thomson Tax & Accounting. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, he worked as a litigator for Poulson, Odell & Peterson, LLC in Denver, CO, served as part of the in-house counsel for Merrill Lynch, and ran a start-up company for The Princeton Review.
Josh Becker - Finance DirectorJosh Becker was appointed Vice President, Finance & Administration for Thomson Reuters, Legal - UK & Ireland in November 2009. Prior to this appointment, he held the post of Head of Decision Support at Thomson Reuters. In that role, Josh was responsible for the strategic financial planning and business development efforts across the Professional division. He joined Thomson Reuters in 1999, and has been involved in a range of finance and strategy roles over the past 12 years. Josh has also served as the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis at the Healthcare & Science division, Director of Investor Relations and various finance leadership positions at the Thomson Financial unit. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, he started his career with a global public accounting firm and subsequently a boutique investment bank based in Minneapolis.
Chris Elvin - Customer Operations DirectorChris was appointed Customer Operations Director in August 2006. He joined Sweet & Maxwell from Thomson Financial where he was SVP Finance Operations based in New York. In this role, Chris was responsible for the operational management of Thomson Financial's North American revenue accounting, billing and collection functions. Before joining Thomson, Chris worked in a number of finance and operational roles for Reuters and MMS International.
Dick Greener – Director of Legal AffairsDick was appointed Director of Rights Management in 1998. The Rights Management Unit provides and reviews contractual documentation for the business and offers training and advice on a wide range of legal issues. A Barrister of Grays Inn, Dick joined Sweet & Maxwell in 1981 as an Editor. In April 2003 he was appointed as an Expert Member to the 15-strong government Advisory Panel on Crown Copyright.
Hilary Lambert - Commercial DirectorHilary was appointed Commercial Director of Sweet & Maxwell in April 2007, having previously been Director of the Legal Print Business. She joined Sweet & Maxwell in 1995 as a Marketing Manager and later become Marketing Director. Before that she had been Director of Publications for Amnesty International and was also publishing manager for TFPL, a provider of services to the information profession. In her role as Commercial Director, Hilary is responsible for the commercial direction and product development strategy of Sweet & Maxwell in its core legal and compliance markets.
Teri Hawksworth - Sales & Marketing DirectorTeri joined Sweet & Maxwell in May 2008 from Wolters Kluwer UK where she was Group Sales and Marketing Director. Previous roles have included Group Sales and Marketing Director for LexisNexis UK and Managing Director of Corporate Intelligence Group - the UK subsidiary of Lebhar Friedman Inc. In her new role, Teri is focused on driving sales and marketing strategies that ensure Sweet & Maxwell remains closely aligned to its customers. In addition, she is ensuring that continued support is given to all new products and services being brought to the market.
