CONTENT
Responding to customer feedback, the Supplement has been restructured. The Criminal Procedure Rules 2020 and the Criminal Practice Directions 2023 are now included in a standalone section and reparagraphed to make them more accessible, and the remainder of the Appendices have been reordered logically. Similarly, the superseded Guidelines in the Sentencing Guidelines Supplement have been grouped together with explanatory background commentary.
We have again taken the opportunity to improve the book: a new chapter 17A on actus reus (titled Acts, Omissions and Circumstances) has been added before chapter 17B (the Mental Element in Crime) and a further reorganisation of material for Chapter 5B has been completed to assist all those engaged in confiscation proceedings.
