PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Current Law service is a family of products that provides the means of keeping up to date with the latest developments in statutory and case law in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Current Law serves as both a research and updating service and provides a comprehensive reference library of legal materials. Digest of cases, abstracts of legislation, tables, indices, cross referencing and case citation ensures that subscribers are kept reliably informed, with minimum research time.

Service A includes:

Statutes (excluding Scotland) is a reference and updating service covering all public and private legislation from bills to statutes. Information on the progress of Bills is given, as is a table of legislation not yet in force. Significant Acts are also selected for comment. Publication is monthly. A Bound Volume is produced annually.

Current Law Monthly Digest, which provides a comprehensive round-up of the month's legal developments, including case law, legislation and Law Commission and Government papers. Entries are sorted into subject areas for straightforward searching, and each abstract has its own two-line summary, to speed up research time. A Bound Volume is produced annually.

Current Law Case Citators, which contain alphabetical lists of case names and each entry gives the history of a case throughout the years covered by a particular citator volume. It provides a quick reference guide to all case law since 1947 - showing if a case has ever been applied, considered, explained, approved, overruled or even referred to. Publication is in paperback each year.

Current Law Legislation Citators are comprised of the Statute Citator and the Statutory Instrument Citator, which pinpoint any changes made to legislation through Acts or judicial consideration. Publication is in paperback each year.

Current Law Yearbook is an annual bound volume of the year's monthly digests, re-edited, restructured and updated. It contains the detail of the brief information supplied in the citator volumes. For example if the citator states that a case has been followed by another case, the reference given will point the user to a Current Law Yearbook where the precise information of which case followed the decision of another case is listed.
